- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup + 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Cream Butter and Sugars: In another bowl, beat butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes). Add egg and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Form Cookies: Scoop dough onto baking sheets, spacing each ball about 2 inches apart.
- Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes. Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the tray before transferring to a wire rack.
